Memory improvement

Memory is one of the mental functions and types of mental activity intended to preserve, store and reproduce information. In other words memory is the ability to store information about the outside world for a long period of time and reuse it in sphere of consciousness for organization of follow-up activity. Memory properties include:

  • Accuracy
  • Volume
  • Speed of remembering processes
  • Speed of forgetting processes

Memorization is a process of imprinting and introduction of new elements of sensation, perception, thought or and emotional experience in the system of associative connections. The base of memorization includes the connection of material with sense in organic whole.

Storage - the accumulation of material in the structure of memory, including its processing and assimilation. Accumulation of information provides an opportunity to study, develop the perceptual (internal evaluations, world's perception) processes, thinking and speech.

Reproduction and recognition is the process of updating the elements of previous experiences (images, thoughts, feelings, movements). A simple form of memory reproduction is recognition, identification of the perceived object or establishment the similarities between the object and its image in memory.

Reproduction of memorial objects can be voluntary and involuntary. If there are any difficulties in reproduction of memorial objects then the process of recall of memorized information takes place.

Forgetting is the loss of ability to reproduce memorial objects, and sometimes, even in the early recognition of memorized information. Most often we forget what is not significant. Forgetting can be partial (not fully memorial reproduction or in error) and total (the impossibility of reproduction and recognition). Also there is temporary and long-term forgetting.

A large amount of knowledge about memory structure and function has been obtained in the study of memory disorders. Currently, all of memory are divided into the following groups:

Hypomnesis memory impairment. Memory impairment can occur with age or as a result of a brain disease (cerebral vascular sclerosis, epilepsy, etc.). The treatment usually include application of nootropic drug like Cognitix Mind Matrix, Cerebrolysin, Actovegin, Nootropil, Bilobil, Flavotan and others.

Hypermnesis is anomalous sharpening of memory compared with normal. This condition is much less common. People with hypermnesis forget the events with great difficulty.

Paramnesia implies false or distorted memories, as well as the displacement of present and past memorials, real and imagined.

Amnesia is a condition associated with loss of memory or its disturbance. It can be organic or functional origin.

Children's amnesia - loss of memory about childhood. Apparently, this type of amnesia is associated with an immature hippocampal connections, or using other methods of information encryption at this age.
